About Foil and Solder
Most stained glass patterns are drawn once at one size. Ours are drawn to your opening, and every piece is checked before the pattern is published.
How a pattern is made
Each design is a set of rules: a border and its corner squares, a lattice of diamonds, rays from a hub. The engine applies the rules to your opening's size, so the pattern fits instead of being stretched. The display, the numbered cartoon, the full-size pages and the glass list all come from the same pieces.
How it is checked
Before a page is built, every piece is checked: big enough to cut, small enough to hold in lead, no point too sharp to survive the grinder, inside the opening, and together covering it exactly, sampled point by point. A pattern that fails is not published.
For glass shops
The pattern picker can sit on your own site, so your customers pick a pattern at their size and buy the glass from you. Write to us.
How it is paid for
Patterns are $8 each. Some pages link to tools on Amazon; as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Foil and Solder is run by GTMFM.NO.
